Breakfast is served! But instead of breakfast cereal from the supermarket, we’re serving up a delicious, homemade granola from the air fryer. It can be adjusted to individual taste and is so easy that you’ll find yourself asking why you haven’t made it any sooner!
How to Make Air Fryer Granola
Unfortunely, we often pay for convenience with our health! Boxed cereals and granolas are often loaded up with too much sugar and unnecessary additives. Really, the list only goes on! When opting to make your own granola, you are not only free to adjust your cereal to your taste, but also to take charge of what is (and isn’t) going into it.
Plus, there’s something to said about the cost benefits! The individual ingredients are so inexpensive that you pay considerably less per serving. Rolled oats, nuts and seeds, dried fruit, a little coconut oil, spices and something to sweeten the whole deal, that’s it. Many ingredients are standard anyway, so you might even save yourself a trip to the supermarket and find yourself ready to start right away.
Our air fryer granola recipe calls for a beautiful medley of rolled oats, chopped nuts, flax seeds and dried apricots. We also add maple syrup, some cinnamon and salt, and a dash of coconut oil to create a rich, enticing sweetness. But, ultimately, you can customize our homemade granola to your liking. That’s where the real freedom lies! Choose your favorite nuts or add pumpkin or sunflower seeds. Other dried fruits can also add a nice twist to your granola: How about dried bananas and raisins, for example?
To prepare the air fryer granola, simply combine the dry ingredients in a bowl. Next, add the spices, maple syrup and a bit of melted coconut oil and. Mix everything thoroughly so that the ingredients are well combined. Now fill the mixture into the basket of your air fryer, which you should preferably line with parchment paper beforehand. Bake for around 20 minutes and that’s it – your granola is good to go!
Ever-versatile, you’ll find that oats can really add a nourishing edge to whatever recipe they grace. Don’t believe us? The proof is in the pudding with our date & oat energy bites, tiramisu overnight oats, and oatmeal chocolate cake.
